In their Annual Governance Report, the external auditors comment on the audit of the financial statements and systems of control as well as work performed use of resources.  The draft report for the 2007/08 audit is shown below

We are committed to providing services that meet the needs of all users in Kent and Medway, whilst delivering value for money to the tax payer. Our external auditors are District Audit, who were appointed to us by the Audit Commission| in 2007. They undertake an audit of the financial standing of Kent & Medway Fire & Rescue Authority each year. Under the Audit Commission's Code of Audit Practice, they are required to issue an annual Audit Letter to the Authority, summarising all the significant issues which arise from its work. Each year we produce a leaflet which gives a summary of our recent performance along with some details of how we intend to improve services. We include this in the Council Tax Bills which go to all households in Kent and Medway. Please use the following link to view the most recent edition.
