The Authority's external auditors undertake an annual audit of the financial standing of Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority.

Under the Audit Commission's Code of Audit Practice, they are required to issue an annual Audit Letter to the Authority, summarising all issues of significance arising from its work.
