Dartford flat fire

Firefighters attended a blaze in sheltered accommodation in Littlebrook Manor Way at Dartford last night.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 9.40pm, reporting someone was trapped in the three-storey building of flats.

Six fire appliances attended the scene and fire crews used two hose reel jets and a hydrant to tackle a fire in a ground floor flat. A woman of approximately 70-years-old was rescued from the flat suffering smoke inhalation.

The ground floor and the first floor of the building were heavily smoke-logged and crews wearing breathing apparatus carried out a full search of the remaining flats. Everyone was accounted for.

The incident was scaled down just before 11.30 pm and two appliances remained to make the scene safe.  KFRS left the scene at 1.25am this morning.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
