Major Margate attraction hit by fire

At 16:47 today, Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to the old Dreamland attraction in Margate where there were reports of a ride on fire.

The historic, yet disused, scenic railway is a blaze, a building next door is also alight. Ten fire appliances, totalling over 50 firefighters, and two aerial appliances are currently tackling the fire.

The appliances are from: Margate, Canterbury, Sturry, Herne Bay, Westgate, Thanet, Ramsgate, Eastry and Sandwich.
