Safety Messages Reach Disabled

A group of physically and sensory impaired people in Dartford have received essential fire safety messages thanks to North Division’s CFS team.
Team Leader Paul LeMasonry and Officer Rob Groombridge, visited the Queen Elizabeth Foundation Resource Centre which enables disabled people to discover new capabilities and learn how to make best use of them.
Staff and group members spent the morning learning the importance of smoke alarms and cooking safely. The group also enjoyed a chip-pan demonstration.
Paul LeMasonry, who arranged the visit, said: “We wanted to provide safety messages to members of the community who can sometimes be hard to reach. By going to the centre direct, we were able to get a number of Home Fire Safety Check referrals from people who can be at a higher risk of fire.
“If everyone went home with at least one piece of information that can help reduce fires or keep the disabled members of community safe, then we’ve achieved our aim.”
