Welcome to the Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority section of the website.

Bryan Cope - Chairman I am very proud to be Chairman of one of only two 'excellent' fire authorities in the country and that we are continuing to take great strides in our work to make our local communities better as well as safer.

One of our priorities is to encourage more sprinkler systems to be fitted, particularly in the homes of people who are vulnerable to fire, as we know they can prevent people from dying.

Increasing smoke alarm ownership remains very important alongside our extensive efforts, especially with young people, to help prevent fires. Working with partners such as Kent County Council, Medway Council and Kent Police, we are spreading awareness about deliberate fires and their impact on society.

We will continue, through Kent Fire and Rescue Service, to provide a first-class service.
