To be a firefighter you need:
- To be over 18 years old when you apply
- You must be physically fit - most people who take part in a sport (such as football or tennis) on a regular basis would be fit enough, but the more fit you are the better.

- Practical, work-related tests, including strength and manual skills;
- A questionnaire to assess your behaviour in certain situations;
- An interview;
- Fitness tests and a medical to assess your level of fitness;
- References.
You should be aware that the selection process takes some months to complete.
