Kent Fire and Rescue Service - there when you need us

For just over £1.33 a week (for a Band D property) Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) provides you and your family with a round-the-clock, 365 days a year service.

We not only fight fires, but deal with a huge range of other emergencies from road crashes, floods and explosions to chemical spillages. We work hard to help families and businesses stay safe by providing safety advice.

Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority Chairman Nick Chard said: “Thanks in part to our community safety work, we have seen a huge reduction in fires and other incidents but we recognise that there are still challenges to meet. Continued advancements in technology and modernised ways of working means we can work smarter and deliver a first class service as effectively as possible. There have been no increases in Council Tax since 2010/11, so for the first time in four years, we are proposing a small increase of 1.99%, which amounts to just over a 2p a week rise for the average household. This will allow us to carry out important modernisation of the service whilst still continuing to deliver an excellent level of emergency cover. We believe that  £1.33 a week for a Band D household is still good value for a round-the-clock emergency response to fires, floods, road crashes and a range of other emergencies."
