Question
Do staff receive appropriate training to assist my loved one during an evacuation of the building?
Answer
Each care provider has a legal obligation to provide suitable (according to the type of building) training to support all residents and staff in the event of an emergency evacuation.

Each member of staff should receive this training when they join the care home. This should be routinely practiced to ensure all staff are ready in the event of a real emergency.

You can ask your care provider questions about the training regime and how your loved one will be cared for in the event of an evacuation.
