Dogs plucked to safety from Bluebell Hill cliff edge

There is no statutory obligation for KFRS to attend animal rescues, however we do attend if there is a risk to human life, if someone is putting themselves in danger trying to rescue the animal themselves.  Once the owner is safe, we will always do our best to rescue the animal.

Phone the RSPCA for advice first as they are the experts and may be able to assist

If we are needed, they will contact us and we will assess the situation for example:

  • whether the animals are trapped at height or are in hard to reach areas and

  • if there is a risk that a member of the public will put themselves in danger to reach the animal

  • KFRS’ Animal Rescue team is ready and prepared to help

If a person is in immediate danger please phone 999
