LPI 145 - Unwanted calls to automatic fire alarms attended

The Authority has introduced a new policy concerning how we respond to automatic fire alarms. This was agreed through the Safety Plan (formerly the Integrated Risk Management Plan). This new policy means that we will no longer respond to most AFA's during the day and from April 2013 will not respond to most calls at night either, unless there are indications of an actual fire.

In 2016/17 we attended 1,998 unwanted AFA calls. We are aiming to reduce this number over the next three years and have set ambitious targets to reduce to 1,400 AFAs by the end of 2017/18.
