In 2016/17, there were 11 RIDDOR reportable injuries. This was a small increase on the previous year but the three year average was still better than the target.
For many years now the Authority has had no workforce fatalities and averaged around four to five major injuries per year. To make our monitoring more meaningful we measure all incidents which are reportable to the Health and Safety Executive and not just major injuries. This includes any injury resulting in three or more days lost time.
The number of reportable injuries tends to fluctuate from one year to the next due to the small numbers involved. A target has been set to bring the number of injuries down to an average of 17 per annum.
