Council Tax
Each year we produce information which gives a summary of
our recent performance along with some details of how we intend to
improve services.
From 2013, we will provide all our Council Tax information
online via this website. Printed copies of the information are
available on request.
Statement of Accounts
The accounts which follow show the 2011/12 audited accounts and
the accounts for the previous six years, for the activities
undertaken by the Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority.
From 2010/11 the Governance Assurance Statement is published
separately and is no longer included in the Statement of
Accounts.
Annual Governance Report
In their Annual Governance Report, the external auditors comment
on the audit of the financial statements and systems of control as
well as the Authority's arrangements for securing economy,
efficiency and effectiveness in the use of resources. The report
for 2011/12 is shown below.
Medium Term Financial Plan
We are committed to providing services that meet the needs of
all users in Kent and Medway, whilst delivering value for money to
the tax payer. We set out our approach in a document called the
Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP). This document looks
forward three years matching the time frame of our other key
strategies such as the Integrated Risk Management Plan. Please use
the following links to view the current MTFP, and plans from the
previous two years.
Annual Audit Letter
Our external auditors for 2011/12 were District Audit, who
were appointed to us by the Audit Commission in 2007.
The external auditors undertake an audit of the financial
standing of Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority each
year. Under the Audit Commission's Code of Audit Practice, they are
required to issue an annual audit letter to the Authority,
summarising all the significant issues which arise from their
work. The audit letter for the 2011/12 financial year is shown
here:
