People living or working near Brunswick Road in Ashford are no longer being advised to keep windows and doors closed, following a large fire at an industrial waste site.

Two fire engines and a bulk water carrier remain at the scene, where crews are making sure there are no remaining hot spots before handing over duty of care to the responsible person.

Update at 11.50am on 8 April 2026: 

Crews have made good progress at an industrial waste fire in Brunswick Road, Ashford, and are now dampening down any remaining hotspots. 

Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier remain at the scene, and the surrounding roads have now been reopened to business owners and the public. 

Due to some smoke still in the area, people living or working nearby are advised to keep windows and doors closed. 

No injuries have been reported, and the cause is believed to be accidental.

Firefighters are continuing to make good progress at the scene of industrial waste fire in Brunswick Road, Ashford. 

Six fire engines, a height vehicle and a bulk water carrier remain in attendance, as well as the technical rescue unit. 

While smoke is still coming from the incident, crews are advising people living, working or travelling in the area to keep windows and doors closed. This advice is expected to be in place for the remainder of the day.

Firefighters are continuing to advise people living near Brunswick Road in Ashford to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.

Six fire engines, a height vehicle, and a bulk water carrier remain in attendance. Crews wearing breathing apparatus are working to extinguish the fire using main jets, foam, and the firefighting robot.

As crews continue to pull apart materials to extinguish the fire, smoke levels may increase throughout the morning.

The KFRS Volunteer Response Team was also in attendance overnight, providing welfare support to crews.
