It’s believed the fire started within the battery of a car while it was on charge. 

Update at 4.30pm on 21 July: 

Firefighting operations are now complete at a fire involving several vehicles at Lydden Hill Race Circuit off Lydden Hill, in Wootton, Canterbury. 

No injuries have been reported, and the cause is not yet known. 

Update at 2.35pm on 21 July: 

People living or working near to Lydden Hill, in Wootton, Canterbury, are no longer advised to close windows and doors following a fire involving several vehicles at a racetrack. 

Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier remain at the scene, where crews are continuing to dampen any remaining hot spots.

Crews have extinguished a fire involving several vehicles at a commercial premises in Lydden Hill, in Wootton, Canterbury. 

Nine fire engines and a bulk water carrier were sent to the scene, where firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used main jets and compressed air foam to put the fire out, before dampening down any remaining hot spots. 

People living or working near to the area are still advised to close windows and doors as a precaution.

Five fire engines are in attendance at a commercial premises, where crews wearing breathing apparatus are using main jets and compressed air foam to extinguish a fire involving several vehicles. 

People travelling on the A2 near to the incident are also advised to take care, as the smoke may impact visibility.
