Update at 9.50am: 

Firefighters have extinguished a fire involving a lorry on the A2 between Dartford and Bean, and have now left the scene. 

Duty of care has been left with the Highways Agency. 

Motorists are advised to check for traffic updates before travelling towards the affected area. 

Initial update: 

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is responding to a lorry fire on the A2 coast-bound, between Dartford and Bean. 

Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier at the scene, where crews wearing breathing apparatus are using hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. 

No injuries have been reported. 

The incident is causing heavy delays in the area and motorists are advised to check for traffic updates for travelling.
