Firefighters have now left the scene of a lorry fire on the A2 London-bound, between Northfleet and the Bean Interchange.

Duty of care has been left with the Highways Agency. 

 

Update at 2.30pm on 9 November: 

One fire engine and a bulk water carrier remains at the scene of a lorry fire on the A2 London-bound, between Northfleet and the Bean Interchange.

Crews are working to clear debris and ensure the fire is fully extinguished. No injuries have been reported. 

One lane remains closed and motorists are still advised to check for traffic updates before travelling towards the affected area. 

 

Initial update: 

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is responding to a lorry fire on the A2 on the London-bound carriageway, between Northfleet and the Bean Interchange. 

Two fire engines are in attendance and crews wearing breathing apparatus working to extinguish the blaze with hose reel jets and compressed air foam. 

The road has been closed while emergency services work at the scene. 

Motorists are advised to check for traffic updates before travelling towards the affected area.
