Dartford

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire at a recycling plant in Pinden Quarry, Green Street Green Road, Pinden near Dartford. Six fire engines, a height vehicle, the KFRS Technical Rescue Unit, and bulk water carrier were sent to the incident.

Firefighters worked in punishing conditions to get the fire under control. They used a number of tactics to fight the fire and used main jets, compressed air foam system, height vehicle with wetting agent, and made fire breaks to tackle the blaze.

Once the fire had been extinguished a crew of firefighters remained on the site overnight to make sure the fire didn't reignite. 

The Kent Fire and Rescue Service Volunteer Response Team was sent to the incident to support firefighters with welfare.

Around 200 tonnes of recycling was affected by the fire. The cause isn't known and there were no reported injuries.
