Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a van alight on the A2 slip road at Junction 2 for the M25, near Darenth, in Dartford.
Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus worked to extinguish the fire.
No casualties were reported and the cause is not yet known.
National Highways also attended to assist with traffic management.
