Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a campervan alight on the A2 Jubilee Way, in Dover.
One fire engine attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames.
No injuries have been reported.
People travelling on the London-bound carriageway are advised to check for traffic updated before travelling towards the affected area.
