Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a car alight on the Loose Road, in Maidstone, near to the junction with Armstrong Road.
One fire engine attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using hose reel jets.
No injures were reported and it's believed the fire started accidentally in the engine compartment.
