Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a vehicle alight on the hard shoulder of the M20 London-bound, between Junction 8 and 9, Maidstone.
Two fire engines attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished a car fire using a hose reel jet.
No injuries have been reported.
