Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a trailer alight on the M20 near to Junction 8 for Hollingbourne, Maidstone.
Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier attended the coast-bound carriageway, where crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
No injuries have been reported.
