Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of car fire on the A21 Sevenoaks bypass, near to the junction for the M25.
Two fire engines were sent to the London-bound carriageway, where crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the flames.
No injuries were reported.
While in attendance, firefighters also responded to a crash on the opposite side of the carriageway and assisted with scene safety.
