Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a vehicle alight on the M2 between junctions 5 and 6, coastbound, near Sittingbourne.
Two fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, extinguished the fire using hose reel jets.
There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.
