Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using hose reel jet and compressed air foam.

No injuries were reported, and cause of the fire is not yet known.

Road has now reopened.

Four fire engines are at the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus continue working to extinguish the fire.

People in the area are being warned to avoid the area due to smoke and road closure. Please check before you travel.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is at the scene of a vehicle recycling centre fire near Woodchurch Road, in Birchington.

Two fire engines have been sent to the incident, and crews are working to extinguish the fire. No casualties have been reported.
