Incident
Ramsgate flat fire
Incident details
Firefighters were called to a fire in a second floor flat of a three-storey building in King Street, Ramsgate. Five fire engines were sent to the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire in the bedroom of the property using two hose reel jets, a main jet, fogspike and water from a hydrant. They also used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. The occupants got out of the property before crews arrived and everyone was accounted for. A woman, who is believed to be in her 40s, was passed in to the care of SECAmb. The British Red Cross support unit was also requested at the scene to assist some of the occupants. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
