Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service on a regular basis.

Smoke warning Lower Halstow
Incident details
KFRS is asking people in the Holywell Lane, Upchurch, area to keep doors and windows closed due to a fire in the area.  Drivers should also be aware that there is a large amount of smoke on the road between Upchurch and Lower Halstow. Crews were called to a haystack fire in Holywell Lane at 11.31.  Two fire engines were called to the incident where the fire had spread to 13 nearby hay bales.  They are using a main jet and have worked with the farmer to create a fire break.   Crews are now bringing the fire under control and at 12.36 the incident was reduced to one fire engine.
