Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service on a regular basis.

Kitchen fire - Herne Bay
Incident details
Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in a microwave which had spread to the kitchen in a property in Mortimer Street, Herne Bay. Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames with a high-pressure hose reel jet, before clearing smoke and fumes from the premises using a positive pressure ventilation fan. 
 
There are no reports of any injuries and the cause is thought to be accidental.
