Man suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke after fire in flat - Gillingham
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued the occupant of a flat in Balmoral Road, Gillingham, following reports of a fire in a three-storey building.
Crews used a high-pressure hose reel jet to extinguish the flames before clearing smoke and fumes from the premises with a positive pressure ventilation fan.
The casualty was given oxygen therapy for the effects of breathing in smoke before being passed to the care of paramedics for transport to hospital.
There are no other reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
