Incident
Mobile home fire in Horsmonden
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire on the decked area at the back of a large mobile home in Grovehurst Lane, Horsmonden, Tonbridge at around 3.40am. Two fire engines attended to find the fire had spread to the sides and roof of the property.

The resident had attempted to extinguish the fire using a garden hose prior to the crews arrival. Firefighters used a high pressure hose reel, thermal imaging cameras and a short extension ladder to tackle the fire. They also spent time cutting away, damping down and assisting the family with salvage.

A man, thought to be in his 40’s went to hospital suffering from burns to his lower leg.

The fire is believed to have been started accidentally from discarded embers from a fire.
