Large roof fire - New Romney
Fire crews remain at the scene of a fire in a clubhouse on a holiday village in New Romney. At the height of the fire around 35 firefighters, six fire engines, a command support unit, bulk water carrier and a height vehicle were dispatched to tackle the blaze.
Firefighters were quickly on the scene and worked extremely hard to swiftly bring the blaze under control, enabling several of the specialist appliances to be released from 5.30am. The incident was reduced to two fire engines by 6am.
Gas and electrics have been isolated and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service is at the scene of a large fire within the roof space of a clubhouse in a holiday village on Dymchurch Road, New Romney. Currently, there are six fire engines, a height vehicle and a bulk water carrier in attendance. Crews wearing breathing apparatus are tackling the fire in the roof space of the building with hose reel jets and fog spikes.
