Incident
Industrial warehouse fire in Rochester
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a large warehouse fire in Knight Road, Rochester. Residents living within 100 metres of the building were urged to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution whilst firefighters tackled the blaze. Crews arrived on the scene to find a well developed fire within the building that had caused some of the roof to collapse. Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and main jets to tackle the blaze. Firefighters soon got the fire under control and worked in tough conditions of freezing temperatures and ice cold winds to extinguish the blaze. There are no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
