Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Rubbish chute fire in block of flats
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a block of flats in Millmead Road, Margate, following reports of smoke on the 8th and 9th floor. Firefighters confirmed the smoke was coming from the building's rubbish chute. The fire was extinguished and crews used a high pressure fan to clear the building of smoke. One person suffering with the effects of smoke inhalation was given oxygen therapy.
