Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Boats in Ramsgate Marina left severely damaged by fire
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire involving two pleasure yachts in the east side of the inner marina in Ramsgate. Crews arrived to find the two vessels well alight. Firefighters worked together with other emergency services to manage the incident. Crews used breathing apparatus, compressed air foam system, hose reel jet and a covering jet to extinguish the fire. The blaze left one yacht severely damaged and listing in the water, however the second yacht sank. Three other vessels were damaged by fire and radiated heat. All people were accounted for, and one female was treated for smoke inhalation by paramedics. The cause of the fire isn't yet known at this stage.
