Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a barn containing tyres alight in Hartfield Road, Cowden, Edenbridge, and crews from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service provided cross border assistance. Four fire engines attended and crews used a hose reel jet, covering jet, main jet and water from a hydrant to extinguish the fire. Firefighters worked to pull the molten tyres apart to dampen down any remaining hotspots. There were no reported injuries and the cause is not known.
