Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service on a regular basis.

Derelict building fire in Herne Bay

Good progress has been made and the fire is under control, with crews now damping down any remaining hot spots.

People living in Osborne Gardens and the surrounding area in Herne Bay are advised to keep windows and doors closed, while firefighters tackle a derelict house fire which is creating lots of smoke. Three fire engines are in attendance and crews are using two hose reel jets, three main jets and water from a hydrant to attack the fire. There are no reported casualties at this time.
