Update on Haystack blaze in Eynsford
Incident update 8.15am, 8 January 2019.
One fire engine remains at the scene of a fire involving a large haystack in Eynsford. At it’s height, the fire could be seen from the M25 motorway and four fire engines, along with a bulk water carrier were sent to the scene to prevent the fire spearing to nearby property. Attendance was soon reduced to two fire engines, while the fire was allowed to burn out under controlled conditions. One fire engine remained on the scene overnight to monitor the fire. There were no casualties and the cause is not yet known.
Firefighters were called to a fire involving a large haystack in Hulberry, Eynsford.
Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier were sent to the scene to deal with the fire, which was in close proximity to the M25 motorway.
Crews remain at the scene dealing with the fire, allowing the stack to burn out under controlled conditions, while preventing it from spreading to any adjacent property.
There are no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is not yet known
