Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Chimney fire in Great Mongeham
Incident details
Crews were called to a chimney alight in a thatched roof house in Mongeham Road, Great Mongeham. They used a hose reel jet and chimney equipment to deal with the fire. 
KFRS is warning local people to have their chimney is swept regularly and keep chimneys and flues clean and well maintained to reduce the likelihood of fires.  Always use a fire guard to protect against flying sparks from hot embers and make sure the fire is out before you go to bed or leave home.
