Dedication, commitment and bravery honoured at special ceremony

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) is hosting a special awards ceremony at Oakwood House, Maidstone on Tuesday, 4 October to honour staff, volunteers and members of the public.

A number of special awards are to be presented by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for Kent, Viscount De L’Isle MBE, along with the Chairman of Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority (KMFRA) Nick Chard and KFRS Chief Executive (CE) Ann Millington.

  • Eight operational staff will receive their 20-year Long Service and Good Conduct medals

  • Eight KFRS volunteers will receive their five-year Long Service awards

  • Four operational firefighters, four fire crews and one member of support staff will receive Certificates of Commendation

  • Three operational firefighters, seven fire crews, one member of support staff, a South East Coast Ambulance Service advanced ambulance technician and five members of the public, including a child, will receive Certificates of Congratulation

KMFRA Chairman Nick Chard said: "This is a wonderful opportunity to show our staff, volunteers and partners how much we appreciate them for their dedication, loyalty and commitment to the people of Kent and Medway. It also provides us with the platform to recognise the selfless bravery of members of the public.

"We greatly value every one of you and recognise the important contribution you have made to helping keep our county safe. You deserve our heartfelt thanks."
