Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) is hosting a free, open event next Tuesday, 24 October at its Road Safety Experience in Rochester.

The event is aimed at anyone aged over 16 and is the ideal opportunity to have a look around the first purpose-built, interactive centre of its kind in the UK.

Book a session to find out for yourself just how serious and life-changing a road crash can be:

• 10am – 12.30pm or
• 1.30pm – 4pm

Area Manager, Mark Rist, said: “A visit to the centre will hopefully make people stop, take notice and think seriously not only about how they drive but also how they behave as passengers.

“Lots of people see crashes on the road and assume it won’t ever happen to them. Sadly, decisions taken while driving can have a life-long impact and shatter lives.  A visit to the Road Safety Experience will certainly get people thinking and talking. Hopefully it will change their behaviour behind the wheel.”

Visitors to the Centre will get the chance to look around and explore the various zones, test their skills as a crash scene investigator and piece together the clues to work out what happened. They can learn what to do if they are first on the scene of a crash and watch a dramatic live rescue demonstration.

Mark ended: “We can all play a part in making our roads safer, book a session and what you see and learn could literally save your life.”
