Sprinkler awareness project

In preparation of the campaign launch, Springboard Marketing Limited, an independent, Kent-based marketing company, was appointed to work with us and raise awareness of the benefits of sprinklers both prior to and during the campaign.

In order to evaluate existing opinions, Springboard recently undertook research to help understand the level of people’s sprinkler knowledge.

Research Conclusion

• Widespread agreement on the benefits of sprinklers
• Perceptions vary widely amongst key audiences
• Specifiers ‘lag’ behind in enthusiasm for sprinklers
• Clarity of messages – Do sprinklers replace or complement the need for smoke alarms?
• Target specifiers – tailored messages for ‘advisors’ & ‘clients’
• Also target influencers to raise public awareness of sprinkler benefits
• Majority welcome sprinklers in the homes of vulnerable people & schools to save lives
• Need to be convinced of the practical aspects - particularly specifiers

This has contributed to the development of the marketing strategy and plan.
