Do staff receive appropriate training to assist my loved one during an evacuation of the building?
Each housing provider has a legal obligation to provide suitable (according to the type of building) training to support all residents and staff in the event of an emergency evacuation.
Each member of staff (where applicable) should receive this training when they commence employment with the housing provider. This should be routinely practiced to ensure all staff are ready in the event of a real emergency.
You can ask your housing provider questions about the training regime and how your loved one will be cared for in the event of an evacuation.
