Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

The Fire Brigades Union strike action has now ended

FBU Strike update 9am 
 
KFRS was called at 7.05am to reports of a lorry fire on section 3 of the A20, where they made the scene safe. Crews remain at the scene of a house fire in Gravesend where they are using a hose reel to damp down hotspots. The fire affected three properties in total, including the house where the fire started and the roof spaces of two adjacent properties. There were no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire is being investigated. 
 
Sean Bone-Knell, KFRS’s Director of Operations said: “We would like to pass on our thanks to the public for taking extra care during the strike and also to the firefighters who have been working to provide essential emergency cover.”
