Crews tackle fire involving two buildings in Headcorn
Latest 7pm: Firefighters have worked hard to bring the fire under control. The incident has been scaled back to three fire engines. There are no other reported injuries and the cause of the fire will be subject to a fire investigation.
Update 6:30: Crews are working alongside paramedics to treat a man in his mid thirties for burns to his feet, together they're cooling his burns using water before he's taken to hospital.
Update - 6pm: Eight fire engines are now at the scene of a large fire on the High Street in Headcorn involving two properties. Firefighters are working in arduous conditions to tackle the fire using hose reel jets, main jets, fog spikes and compressed air foam system to prevent the fire from spreading through the roof void above the properties. The cause of the fire at this stage isn't known.
Update 5pm: Kent Fire and Rescue Service is at the scene of a property fire in the High Street in Headcorn. Five fire engines have been sent to the incident and a height vehicle. First crews on the scene arrived to find flames issuing from the roof of the property. Kent Police are also in attendance managing the traffic in the area. More to follow.
