Update: M2 lorry fire
Incident details
Update: 8am 
Firefighters have extinguished a fire involving a lorry trailer containing alcoholic beverages on the M2 and remain on the scene damping down and making the scene safe. The coastbound carriageway remains closed between junctions 5 and 6, and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and allow extra time for their journeys. 
 
The coast bound carriageway of the M2 motorway has been closed between junctions 5 and 6 due to a fire involving a lorry trailer. Firefighters and Kent Police are in attendance.
