Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Tumble dryer fire in Chatham home
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire involving a tumble dryer in Swallow Rise, Chatham. The occupants did the right thing by turning off the tumble dryer when they discovered the smoke. They then safely evacuated the property and called 999. Crews extinguished the small fire and removed the appliance from the property. It's believed the fire was caused by an electrical fault inside the tumble dryer. Nobody was harmed in the incident.
