Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Gillingham flat fire
Incident details
Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at a flat at a three-storey property in Britton Street, Gillingham. Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the smoke-logged flat and extinguished the fire using a hose reel. They used a fan to clear smoke from the premises. A man needed the attention of SECAmb after breathing in smoke.
