Update: Tyre fire smoke warning remains in place
Incident details
Update: Advice to residents in the areas of Goddington Park and Hothfield to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke from a fire involving approximately 1000 tyres in The Street, Great Chart remains in place. Crews carried out a watching brief overnight and one fire engine and an all-terrain vehicle remain in place.

Firefighters are advising residents in the areas of Goddington Park and Hothfield to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution, due to smoke from a fire in The Street, Great Chart, Ashford, involving a large quantity of tyres. Two fire engines are in attendance and an all-terrain vehicle. There are no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
