Incident
Accidental hob fire in Ashford
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire involving a hob in the kitchen of a Kennington home. Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish. It's believed the fire was caused by the hob being accidently turned on which then set fire to cardboard that had been left on top of the hob. There were no reported injuries.

Firefighters would always encourage people to never leave anything stored on top of or near cookers, hobs or agas because of the fire risk.
